Superman Returns in India as Krrish

There is an interesting story about Indian super hero movie Krrish in BoingBoing. From the story,

“Throughout the film, in fact, the other characters consistently cite his “talents” but rarely his “powers” as if he were destined to become an extremely gifted knowledge worker (and indeed, it turns out that the ethics of knowledge work for hire are at the center of this epic saga.) ”

Hahaha, Read rest of the story here. I didn’t get chance to watch Krrish yet but I did see Superman Returns and based on the length and storyline of the movie, to me it was a bollywood flick :)

Elephant can dance

Interesting article about fast growing India Economy in Time Magazine's current issue. Here is CNN's spin on it.

                                                India Inc.

This story in Time about Ratan Tata and Tata Conglomerate makes you salute the company and Tatas.

"Tata Sons, the holding company that manages the group, is 65.8% owned by 11 charitable trusts, which spent $379.2 million on social causes in 2003-04 alone."

Fahrenheit 9/11 & Fahrenhype 41.11

Happen to watch Fahrenheit 9/11 yesterday (yeah this late!!). The show was arranged by College Activity Board (CAB) at RIT. In reply to this the Republican group of college arranged a show of Fahrenhype 41.11 to counter it, but it was too late and so I only watched one side of views i.e. Fahrenheit 9/11. Two things touched me and I felt are very true for any developing/developed country around the world,

1) When the country needs you to stand-by itself in its armed forces, the people who step up first are the under-privileged, socially/economically left behind people. The guy who you always see on corner of some dark and dirty street, they step up first so that majority middle class can stay in their comfort.

2) You should choose war as last resort. Otherwise you may loose faith from all those people who joined army and risked their lives so that YOU can stay in warmth of your home.
I don’t hate bush, I just happen to do not like few of his decisions. Blaming bush for everything is I feel wrong because remember it is the system that operates and not one person. Yeah the president had extraordinary powers and he should have used them more sensible way, But when he doesn’t it is the system’s responsibility to make those correction and so it is the failure of system rather then one person or president.

On the other note I hope FBI does not pay a visit to me for this weblog entry. :-)
Also Director of Fahrenheit 9/11 Michael Moore is campaigning for Kerry.
and in last watch out these Florida voting machines :-)

After 20 years of Horrible Chernobyl disaster, a girl went to town Chernobyl and area around it on her motorbike. They call Chernobyl ghost town because of obvious. Very interesting pictures of this ghost town. Also the photographs are commented with people and scientists who still live there. This was previously posted on slashdot , and today it has update on it with new photographs taken during spring.
